LASIK and Abigail

I had my lasik touch-up this morning. I was not half as nervous as I was the first time around in December of 08. But once there I gladly took the little blue happy pill. My appointment was at 8:30 and we waited for about 2 hours until it was my turn. They had my lie down on the machine, they kept my poor right eye open with those little plastic eye spatulas and I looked into the brightest lights I've ever seen in my life. It only took about 20 seconds but boooy I felt blinded! My left eye was covered up but tearing like crazy and I just wanted to look away. Of course my doc kept saying "look straight ahead, look straight ahead". Easier said than done! But when it was over I was relieved and he checked the eye afterwards and the cornea went back on fine. I got some funky googles to go home in and slept in the car. Jim made me the best salmon bagel I've ever had once we were home. After eating I crashed for about 4 hours though. The power of Valium! LoL Now my vision is pretty much back to normal already. And I've already done the "read bright stuff" test and I think it's a lot better now than before. YAY!
Here's a picture of me with my right eye dilated like never before. The crazy look is just to show it off!

And then my dear husband thought it was funny afterwards how I wore my sunglasses above the funky eye protective goggles:

Tomorrow I'm going back for a post-op, I'm sure it'll be just fine. My doc also called me earlier to ask how I was doing. Thought it was sweet of him to do.

On a completely different note: I have a new best baby friend! My former student and now friend Fatime had her third baby on Thursday. I visited her and little Abigail in the hospital yesterday, my that baby is just the cutest thing!!!! ♥
